Entwined to you Chapter 5

Entwined to you

Chapter 5

Anyone?

Twinkle’s POV

Next morning, I woke up late with extreme pain in my head. Felt as if it would explode at any moment. I sat on the couch in my room and hugged the pillow kept beside me.
Why did I have to be so rude to him? It’s all my fault. I mean… I could have explained why I don’t want friends. Twinkle, you have to apologize for what you did.
And of course, I had no other option. Kunj is the only one I trust now, after everyone left me.
Aaaahhhh….Twinkle, get up!

For some damn reason, my room did not have an attached bathroom. I had to go outside into the corridor with my disheveled hair and probably dead looking face to the bathroom to actually freshen up.
And of course…
“Kunj!!!!” I shouted at the top of my lungs. I knew he’d hear my voice. I shouted so loudly that I was lost in praising myself at my ability to shout. Kunj nearly scared me when he came and started to knock at the door.
“What happened?” He said with a cold tone. How could he be so cold towards me. We’re so close, like… so very close. Huh?
“Uhh, the towel is too small.” I said meekly.
“What?”
“Yes, it is.”
“And?” Kunj said
Why was he being so cold?
I simply opened the door and showed him how short the towel was.

I saw Kunj’s eyes getting bigger. The towel barely covered my privates. My hips were exposed and the br*asts were clearly visible to him. I wouldn’t say I disliked this. I quite liked this actually.
“Kunj?” I smiled.
“Breakfast is ready. Come soon.” He ignored me and left.

Why? Why? WHY are men like this? I stamped my way out of the bathroom and wore a casual outfit. A simple top and jeans, though the top was pretty low cut. I went to the dining area and greeted everyone. But… I was ignored by everyone except Advik, and Zeeshan’s hungry eyes.
“Welcome, Twinkle. Have a seat. It’s your own home now, after all.” Advik greeted, with a smile on his face.
I did not reply.

“Well, Twinkle and her towel surely had a lot of fun today.” Zeeshan said, eyeing my cleavage. I was uncomfortable with those staring eyes. And yet, all I did was tuck away my hair to my back.
“Excuse me.” I stood up “Kunj, can we talk now? Please?” I pleaded, but he nodded.
He motioned to the garden and we went there.
The garden was beautiful. Multiple diverging paths emerging from the entrance, leading to the widely varying variety of flowers inside. Though it was beautiful, I was not interested in it. All I wanted to do was punch the man standing next to me.

“Look, I’m sorry. I… I shouldn’t have been so rude to you. It’s just that… I’m not used to all this. Please, forgive me.” I said, caressing his cheeks, but he only nodded.
“Kunj, are you going to talk? Please, say something.” I made him face me but all he did was look up, and be quiet. f**k. I was so irritated. How could he just ignore me?
“Kunj, I want to talk.” I said in a loud voice “Why the f**k are you ignoring me?”
“Because you don’t realize anything. I want you to be happy. I want you to forget all what has happened in the past, but all you do is care about yourself, and forget me. You cannot f**k your way out of everything with me. s*x is but a small part of anything. If I care for you, I expect you to care for me too. But do you?”
“I brought you here so that you will not be alone in your life. I did so much for you, and yet, it took you only a moment to ask me why I even did this even though you did not ask for it. Why don’t you f**king understand? I did this for you. I cannot see you in so much pain. I simply cannot. It hurts me when I see tears in your eyes. Do you realise what I felt when I saw those belt marks that monster had left on you? I wanted to strangle him to death right there and then.” He gripped my shoulders.
“Kunj, you’re hurting me, I can..” I started to speak, but he interrupted me.
“Do you realise how much you had hurt me yesterday? Do you realise that I care for you? You think there is no one in this world who cares for you? You think I have fake concern for you?” Kunj said.
“Kunj, listen to me. I’m not ready to make friends. Why don’t you get this thing in your head? You’re not someone who can sort everything out. I have my reasons. You want to know why I behaved that way? Fine. Listen to me then.” I got out of his hold and shouted.

——————––

(Twinkle’s past. In 3rd person)

It was the beginning of winter. Snow had not yet made its appearance, but it was so cold that everyone stayed huddled around fires or in heated rooms. Being situated near the Great Lakes in USA, it was quite cold. And that’s where Twinkle was.
And she shared her dormitory with Abbie, Chris, Zayn, Kaitlyn and Jennifer.

The first rays of the sun woke her up, slanting through the curtains and falling across her face.
“Oww, my eyes.”
She checked her phone and stood right up as she remembered what day it was.
“Crap, the last day before the start of vacations.” She sighed.

She got ready quickly and trudged out to the kitchen to find a fresh pot of coffee on the counter along with a note from Jennifer:
BREAKFAST ON THE ROOF, COME AND JOIN US
“Sounds fun.” She said to herself, poured some coffee and headed upstairs to find Jennifer, Zayn, and Kaitlyn eating sausages and looking out at the beautiful view of the town. The Sun was still a bit dim, but the town looked like a Christmas tree, lights of different colours glowing everywhere. It was very beautiful.
“Morning Twinkle, How’d last night go?” Jennifer asked.
“Okay-ish, I guess. Listen, I have to go give Professor Mary my latest essay… Don’t leave without saying goodbye, okay?” I said

Professor Mary, a lady in her 60s with grey hair and specs who always dressed herself in a blue gown and a scarf around her neck and extremely strict in nature, had appointed Twinkle to gather experiences from her life that helped her to finish a novel.

Twinkle stepped into Professor Mary’s office. It was an average sized room, but had many books put in shelves all around. She found her at her desk. A large, leather-bound book was open in front of her. It looked like she had been reading for a long time, as she did not notice Twinkle until she knocked at the door.

“Ah, Twinkle, come in.” she said.

Wordlessly, Twinkle handed her essay she had created in a hurry up last night. Professor Mary read through it, and the harsh lines of her face softened as she finished reading.

“That was… nice. Very nicely written, though not upto my mark.”
“Did you take your medicines, professor?” Twinkle asked.
“None of your concern.”
“Professor Mary, I know you don’t have a lot of days left, and no one knows about it except me. Also, you don’t take care of yourself at all. Even though I want to help, you don’t let me do it. Why?”
She crossed her arms. “There’s a big difference between dying, and dead” Twinkle spoke softly.

Slowly, Professor Mary got up from her chair and looked out the window.
“Look at that, the first snow of the season.” Mary said.
It indeed was beautiful. Snowflakes falling from the sky and the town slowly starting to look like an icicle cake.
Twinkle followed her outside. Snow fluttered down from the sky, dusting the campus in white.
“It’s beautiful.” Twinkle said.
“Oh yes, I guess even a dying person needs some beauty in their life, right?” Mary replied.
Twinkle couldn’t say anything; she only looked at her in a sorrowful way.
“When the time comes, please inform me. I want to be there with you.” Twinkle said.
“I will, I hope.”

She reached out and caught a snowflake in her hand, where it melted against the warmth of her palm.

“For once, it looks like you’re right. I’m not dead yet.” But just as she said this, she fell down, unconscious. Dead.

Present

Twinkle’s POV

“She died in my arms. I tried to tell everyone that she had cancer, but she did not want me to tell anyone, but no one believed me.”
“My friends, Chris, Zayn, Jennifer, Abby and Kaitlyn, everyone thought I purposely did not let her have those medicines. They ridiculed me. Called me names. Tried to undermine me and… everyone I trusted left me for something I had never done. No one believed me. Not one person.” My eyes turned moist as I narrated everything to Kunj. I could not handle these experiences of my past.
“I’m afraid to lose people Kunj. That is the reason I don’t want anyone else in my life. That is the reason I find it very difficult to trust people. I spent nearly five years alone, and now I’m used to it. When I meet people, I just want to run away from them…” I couldn’t continue anymore. Kunj hugged me.
“It’s okay, I’m here. I won’t let any harm come to you anymore. I promise on my life.” Kunj said, caressing my back.
I tilted my chin up and pressed my lips against his as he wrapped his arms tighter around me.
“I don’t want this moment to end.” I said
“Maybe it doesn’t have to.” Kunj said.
“What do you mean?”

He took me to the roof. Night was pressing black against the sky. So much time had passed, and yet I did not know how. Softly glowing candles flickered all around me, and two wine glasses sat beside a bottle on the table. I took one in my hand, when Kunj walked over to me, and took my hand in his. I stared into his eyes, the lights of the city glittering in the background.

He kissed me deeply, his hands went up to my cheeks and then sneaked down my back. He put his hand on my back and pulled me close, kissing my neck, while his other hand took my wine glass and set it aside.

I chuckled to myself and he lowered me onto the cushions of the couch and unzipped the back of my dress. I squirmed out of it, letting the straps fall to my sides.

I stifled a gasp as Kunj yanked my dress down to my ankles and then… away from me. He moved to kiss, his lips brushing the inside of my thighs…..

——-

We lay in each other’s arms on the couch, our clothes forgotten on the ground.
He kissed my forehead.

Maybe, this moment doesn’t have to end.
