Karanvir Sharma: My family calls me to say they hate me

Actor, Karanvir Sharma is being appreciated for essaying the role of Shaurya in TV show, ‘Shaurya Aur Anokhi Ki Kahani’. He was on a sabbatical from the TV industry for two years and was busy doing web series in the meanwhile.

In an interview with BT Karanvir talks about his character Shaurya and says, “The show makers didn’t want a typical TV face,” he says, adding, “Shaurya is a layered character. He has a certain dynamic, when looked at as an overall view. This is a little different take on what a typical hero on TV is like. From the glut of saas-bahu shows on TV, this show is a breakaway. And the feedback we got was that this is not very similar to other shows on TV. Hence, I agreed.”

Talking about playing Shaurya on-screen, Karanvir says, “Shaurya is such an anti-hero, a typically purush pradhan insan, who is very patriarchal in his mindset. Every time he enters in the scene, there is a different look to it. He is grey, not black or white, and he is shrewd. Though he is nice hearted, people hate him sometimes. ”

His acting skills for portraying the grey character have found ‘haters’ for him within his family too! He receives a lot of hate messages. Karanvir laughs and says, “Even my family calls me and says we hate you.”

Now that is what you call a performance!
